Korbel Sweet Cuvee

Harvest
Korbel Sweet Cuvee is made in a bright, fruit forward style. This champagne has a bright citrus and tropical fruit character, which complements the medium sweet finish. All of the grape varieties used are harvested early in the growing season to ensure that the blend has a bright acidity to balance the sweetness in the finish.

Winemaker Notes
Each of the grape varieties used in the Sweet Cuvee blend plays an important role. Chenin Blanc gives the blend a delicate forward fruit character. Chardonnay gives the blend the body and structure needed to balance with the sweet finish. French Colombard contributes a bright acidity and citrus character. Finally, Muscat Canelli brings the blend together with an appealing tropical and floral flavor.

Winemaking
Korbel Sweet Cuvee is made using the traditional Methode Champenoise process. Many sweeter styled sparkling wines use the less costly and quicker bulk method; also know as "Charmat." We believe that the traditional individual bottle fermentation method is key to the quality of our champagnes. The bubbles in each bottle result from fermenting the champagne in that same bottle.

Sweet cuvee is made sweet by adding a mixture of sweet wine and pure sugar to each bottle just before labeling and shipping.
