Ernest Hemingway's Death in the Afternoon

Ernest Hemingway put it in his famed recipe for the cocktail appropriately called Death in the Afternoon: "Pour one jigger of absinthe into a Champagne glass. Add iced Champagne until it attains the proper opalescent milkiness. Drink three to five of these slowly.” (Hence the name.) Cheers!

1 oz. Absinthe ( Sub: Pastis or Pernod)

5 oz. Champagne, chilled



Pour Absinthe into champagne flute. Top with Champagne.
